Adding the work top
We bought a work top in oak from IKEA, but then found a cheaper one at another store. Sawing was not the easiest thing as oak is a very hard wood, but we managed.
I sanded it and treated it with some oil (also from IKEA).
We then added some old wall-paper on the pillar (to cover up the edges) and painted it white but I forgot to take a picture of this.
